Artful Mediation, formerly Mediare, carries out active peace education and community organizing, sponsoring the Philosophers' Cafe to promote dialogue and constructive action for peace, and most recently The Los Feliz Art Walk, and other community activities that promote communication and peace. 

World AIDs Day, Hollywood Remembers

On November 30, 2008 residents of Hollywood and the Los Feliz area join the international community in remembering those who have been afflicted or have died of AIDS.

Hollywood Remembers is Los Feliz’s second annual observance of Worlds AIDS Day, held at Hollywood Lutheran Church on Sunday, November 30, at 5 p.m.  Again this year several panels of the National AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display beginning Thursday, November 29, and during the Los Feliz Art Walk, Dec 5  6 - 9 p.m.   For more information go to www.hollywoodremembers.org.

WINTER HOLIDAYS - SACRED STORIES

Also join us for Sacred Stories, December 21 at 3 p.m. in the Courtyard Galleries behind Hollywood Lutheran Church, 1733 N. New Hampshire Avenue.  Come as you are or as you aren't - as a Macabee, a druid or an angel, and we'll recall stories from Gaelic, Jewish and Christian winter traditions, then greet the longest night of the year from the Great Lawn at Barnsdall Art Park.
